Richard T. Orton is as an associate at the Milwaukee law firm of Crivello Carslson, SC. He works as a litigator in federal, state and administrative forums. During law school at Wisconsin, Richard was a member of the Moot Court Board and Mock Trial Team. As a Moot Court Board member, he competed in the Ruby R. Vale National Corporate Law competition, winning the competition’s best brief award, and coached UW Law’s team in the Herbert Wechsler National Criminal Law competition. Mr. Orton also worked as a law clerk for the Wisconsin Governor’s Office of Legal Counsel during law school.
Mr. Orton is originally from Mauston, WI. Prior to law school he worked as a paralegal at a large multinational law firm in Washington, D.C., splitting his time between the firm’s corporate and securities group and the white collar and regulatory enforcement group. During his undergraduate years at Marquette he spent his summers working in Washington D.C., once for a member of the U.S. House of Representatives and once for a national trade association. Also while an undergrad, Richard studied for two terms at the University of Oxford in England, focusing his studies on law and public policy.
